I am back!!!!

Wow, so much has changed since my last post. I will do a short recap and then go from there. I have been totally disabled since tearing my acl in 2011 and soon after lost my job where I was employed for 15 years. It has been rough but I knew that it was a light at the end of this dark tunnel. I have reached the light!!!! At the beginning I was 99% in pain 365 days a year for 2 years. Now I am in pain maybe 20% of the time and that is mainly after therapy or being out on my feet for awhile. I never thought it would get better. I thought my life was going to be in pain and I would have to deal. It has been a lot of hard work but I have made it here to a relatively pain free place. I do still suffer from lupus which causes obstacles everyday but I am managing that well with doctors and medications. I feel as though my life is back and I am ready to live again. Awwww, that is my favorite line from my favorite movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life” when George says “I wanna live again, God please let me live again”. And he is. My posts were so negative and I had a person point that out to me, but my life at that time was very sad and painful and that is what I wanted to write about and express because I was in the tunnel. Well, I am out of the tunnel and I am ready to write in a brighter place. I want to experience new things, I want to travel and meet people, go places, get dressed up and pretty. The things that Erika used to do. 2014 is so my year and I can’t wait. A lot of things have happened in the last month within my family and that is going to take first priority but focusing on myself is a must. My sister needs me in a way she hasn’t before and I am so happy that I am in a position to help her. My sister has always been there for me, I don’t mean your run of the mill sister stuff. She has been there for me like no other and it so pleases my heart that I can now be there for her and her husband. Another topic I want to touch on very quickly is health and maintaining it. If you are taking medication for any reason, take it. Period. Even if you are feeling good and have no symptoms that you can see or feel on a daily basis. Take it. Period. Do not ignore what your doctor says and more importantly what your body tells you. It can literally be the difference between life and death. Until next time…
